Lockheed Martin UK, part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation, is a leader in systems integration, working on major programmes spanning the aerospace, defence and civil sectors.
The organisation works with more than 100 business partners and employs over 2000 people at sites across the UK and a further 121,000 worldwide. It is one of the world’s largest defence contractors. It draws on the vast breadth of technologies and capabilities across the corporation, and pull innovation through its supply chain, in order to deliver high technology products and services to its customers.
Lockheed Martin UK was established in 1999 and is comprised of six business units located across the UK:

- Strategic Systems
The company has received the Collier Trophy six times, most recently (in 2001) for being part of developing the X-35/F-35B LiftFan Propulsion System, and again in 2006 for leading the team that developed the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Lockheed Martin is currently developing the F-35 Lightning II.
Major programmes in the UK include Merlin, the Royal Navy’s Multi-Mission Helicopter, the C-130J Tactical Airlifter, support to NATS, the UK Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (UKCATT), and support to the Trident Weapons System.
Lockheed Martin is also prime contractor for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, is part of the consortium responsible for the management of AWE and is one of the partners in the ASCENT Joint venture responsible for delivering the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) project. With niche capabilities, and proven, battle winning solutions, they are a partner of choice for the British Forces. The company is also focussed on delivering integrated software systems for postal services for Royal Mail and is involved in a number of significant programmes in the classified arena
